A stunning hand forged nakiri style chef knife . the blade is hand forged from an old sawmill blade
The Japanese inspired hidden tang handle is made from gidgee timber with stainless steel and G10 spacers
Nakiri knives are a Japanese style of knife used to prepare vegetables.
Blade length is 127 mm (5 inches) and its 51 mm deep at the heel. overall length is 265 mm . the spine is 4 mm wide near the handle tapering to about 2.5 mm for most of the spine . The handle is 130mm long, 21mm wide and 26mm deep. Weight is about 193 gm nice balance. The blade has a concave S -Grind to help with food release. Being such a thin blade its designed for up and down cutting of softer materials so please go easy with sideways pressure such as may occur when breaking open a pumpkin.
